Sunday March 10, 2019
7:00 – 9:00 PM
(Doors open at 6:45 PM)
Classes take place at: Collective Soul Space
Lower Level, Scotia Centre
Join Maureen for the ONLY offering in March! The light is returning – thankfully – and though the temps haven’t warmed up much, you’ll be able to stay cozy as we practice restorative yoga for two hours together in a toasty warm space. Be sure to wear layers and bring your own blanket to supplement the props available. Preregistration is a much, particularly seeing as this is the only two-hour offering in March.
Sunday nights are for R-E-L-A-X-I-N-G! Immerse yourself in the joy of deep relaxation.
Restorative Yoga makes use of props like bolsters, blocks, straps and blankets to support the body so that you have no work to do except to relax! Postures are held for a lengthier period of time (some up to twenty minutes) as you are encouraged to soften into the support and into the stillness. The nervous system is given a chance to cue the Relaxation Response to release deeply held stress.
The gong is an ancient instrument that has been used in many rituals and ceremonies but also for healing. In the last twenty minutes of class, you’ll find a comfortable posture to allow the waves of sound vibration to wash over you. Sound heals. Your trillions of cells will begin to vibrate at a higher frequency, so it’s helpful to set a healing intention for the practice.
This is a popular offering that tends to fill up. If you’re interested in participating, don’t delay! No previous experience is required. Please wear layers to class and bring a blanket.
There are many options for payment! Cost is $30, with a nominal service fee if registering online.
You may pay online by clicking below. Or you may pay via EMT, by sending payment to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please use the security response: gongbliss, or something obvious. Finally, those of you possessing a CSS punch pass, you may use two of your punches, but you MUST preregister by letting Maureen know.
