Late dawn. Early sunset. Short day. Long night. For us in the Northern Hemisphere, the December solstice marks the longest night and shortest day of the year; after the winter solstice, the days get longer, and the nights shorter. It’s a seasonal shift that nearly everyone notices.

Here in Canada’s North, the days remain darker longer; we have the urge to go inwards; to become more reflective, and to hibernate. You are invited to take time to reflect in celebration of this year’s Winter Solstice with a very special event: a 75-minute Yoga Nidra and Double Gong session.

Yoga Nidra is a meditative practice that invites you to access your deeper consciousness through guided instruction. It has proven incredibly healing for participants. The gong is also an instrument used in healing through sound vibration. On this evening, Maureen will be playing both a 30″ & a 36″ Paiste Symphonic Gong for a greater than usual experience.

No experience is required; just a desire to celebrate this special time, to reflect on your innermost desires, and to heal.

Stay for Yogi Tea and a homemade treat after your experience!

Preregistration IS REQUIRED!

$20 plus a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Yellowknife Food Bank.

You may also register by sending an email transfer to and use the security response: gongbliss

Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a blanket. Don’t forget your socks!
